Notting Hill bathroom renovation

A small project that consisted of a bathroom and wardrobe renovation for the master bedroom. The client wanted to hear the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the sandy seashore. Sounds simple!

To achieve the ambition, we had to reorganise several spaces. Previously half the bathroom had been taken over with wardrobes. We added another floor onto the existing closet wing at the rear of the house, creating space for a walk-in wardrobe. Lighting is primarily provided by a rooflight, with LED strips at night and showcase niches were installed for the family’s African sculptures on the half landing.

The bathroom benefitted from this increased room, with space for a freestanding bath, separate shower cubicle and double washbasins. Careful lighting has been chosen; a mix of crystal pendants and wall lights with ceiling lighting to wash the mural.

The language is exotic, warm and moody, with walnut timber slats contrasting the Caribbean mural set against a marble floor

'Palm trees, a jetty and a coconut shack'. We transformed this bathroom into lush retreats inspired by the exotic beauty of tropical paradise. Step into a world where tranquility meets luxury, where every element is carefully curated to evoke the sensation of a serene island getaway. A space that resembled a tropical paradise, inspired by where they grew up.

Rich woods and bamboo accents add an organic texture, while pops of tropical hues like lush greens and bring sky wallpaper bring the vibrant energy of the tropics indoors.
