"When we bought our house, I had a vision in mind - but translating that vision into interiors proved incredibly difficult. We worked with two different interior designers, but neither of them truly understood what I wanted. They imposed their own style, which just wasn’t me. Then one day, I walked past the Hodgkinson Design storefront and met Andrew. From that first conversation, I knew it was going to work. He immediately understood me - my needs, my lifestyle, and the look and feel I wanted to create. The entire team was open, respectful of my ideas, and helped bring my vision to life without ever pushing a particular aesthetic.
I had a clear idea of what I wanted, but I didn’t know how to bring it to life. Andrew did. I felt comfortable and supported throughout the entire process, which was so important to me. Unlike previous experiences, where I felt pushed in directions I didn’t want to go, Hodgkinson Design listened and helped guide me in a way that always felt true to me.
One of the most transformative aspects of the project was how the team reimagined the layout of our home. Originally, the kitchen and living rooms - on different floors - felt disconnected and cold. Hodgkinson Design used materials, lighting, and flow to beautifully link the spaces. The choice of materials was incredible, connecting walls to flooring in a way that felt harmonious and intentional. Andrew’s attention to detail is unlike anything I’ve experienced - everything was considered, every element had a purpose.
He helped design every detail to create a space that truly reflects how we live. For example, in the kitchen, I wanted a seating area alongside a dining space. Andrew coordinated the colours with our existing furniture and art pieces, allowing them to shine while creating balance and warmth. He also introduced me to materials I’d never have chosen on my own, natural wood and stone, which ended up being perfect. He understood my personality and needs better than I could have imagined, and the result was beyond anything I could have created myself.

The execution of the project was just as impressive. Andrew brought in exceptional contacts from the construction world - high-end craftspeople, expert wood suppliers, and meticulous stone layers. Renovating a home can be overwhelming, but this experience felt smooth and surprisingly stress-free because I trusted Andrew completely. His service and support from start to finish were outstanding. I felt genuinely looked after throughout.
The end result hasn’t just improved how we live; it’s improved our overall wellbeing. Every room is multifunctional: we can host, work, and relax seamlessly. We stayed true to the traditional character of the building while creating a calm, serene environment. That sense of tranquillity was key for me.
Whenever people visit, they say the same thing: “Wow, your home is amazing.” It’s such a joy to recommend Hodgkinson Design - the work speaks for itself. I’ve already recommended them to many friends.
Andrew is incredibly professional, with an extraordinary network, and I truly believe his clients’ happiness is at the heart of everything he does. He studies each project in depth and explores every possibility, so nothing feels rushed or cookie-cutter. We kept evolving the design as we went, which I loved. The process stayed creative right to the end. Andrew is precise, as you’d expect from an architectural designer, but he’s also artistic and imaginative, conceived, sourced and worked with the artist for the sculpture in the hallway. He has a unique style and deep sensitivity to each client’s individuality. Even now, I continue to work with him as we update different parts of our home. I’ve asked him to help with a house we’re doing in Madrid, because I can’t find anyone else with his level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail. He’s always been generous with his time and advice. Working with Hodgkinson Design has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly."
