South Kensington: a Victorian family home, rethought for modern life.
Victorian houses have wonderful bones, but they weren’t built for the way families live today. At our South Kensington project, we’re reworking one so that it keeps its character and suits everyday life much better. The project is now well into its fit-out, and the details are starting to show.

A kitchen in Calacatta.
The bespoke kitchen is now installed, and it’s a highlight of the project. We hand-selected the Calacatta Vagli marble for it, choosing each piece for its veining and tone so that the stone feels considered rather than simply applied.
Joinery made for the family.
Bespoke joinery is going in throughout the house, including a set of bunk beds designed for the children’s room. Made-to-measure pieces let us make the most of every inch, and they give a family home a sense of craft and permanence that off-the-shelf furniture can’t.
The work behind the wall.
Not everything we do is visible, but it matters just as much. A full M&E (mechanical and electrical) reconfiguration is bringing the building’s services up to date, so that the house works well for modern family living. Second fix, the stage where sockets, switches, lighting and fittings are completed, is due to finish next week.
Next: limewash and tadelakt.
Specialist decoration begins on site shortly, including limewash and tadelakt finishes. Limewash has a soft, mineral depth that shifts with the light through the day. Tadelakt is a traditional polished plaster, smooth and subtly tactile. Together they add warmth and texture that sit well against the house’s period architecture.
We’ll share more as the project nears completion.
